New PD at CHQR announced

Radio news from Alberta

Postby radiofan » Tue Nov 21, 2006 7:45 pm

Word out of Calgary this afternoon tells us that onetime QR-77 News Director JOHN VOS is returning to Shaw Court and will be replacing JAY DONALD as PD at the News/Talk outlet.

I remember when John joined QR the first time, as a beat reporter. Welcome back John!

I remember him, what was he doing in between?

those two cruiser chicks?

ummm.

I'm guessing she means in between being News Director at QR to being Program Director at QR.

I think the answer is News Director at Global Calgary.

Is that a Gord Gillies' shot? Or a REALLY obscure Larry Day shot?

No Larry Day shot is obscure enough. If he was talented as he is arrogant, that would be something to crow about.

I can't say bad things about Gillies. He MC'd a charity event I attended, he was very very kind, dare I say, sweet.

Great guy in his element doing light-hearted charity stuff surounded by Haus-fraus

Terrible guy when trying to project "serious newscaster" vibe.

Tot had a great Gillies' teamwork story that he'd tell.
