Safer Surfing: Two Good Search Engines

Postby Tape Splicer » Tue Jul 17, 2012 2:42 pm

For some who surf the web, there is no concern about who is tracking them as they go about their private business online.

I personally think that their is enough information about me on some anonymous server someplace without adding to the database with my IP address and who knows what else associated to it.

In an effort to limit the amount of personal information about ME being added to that database I've been using a couple of search engines (associated to each other): "Start Page" and Ixquick".

"Start Page" https://www.startpage.com/ provides search results from "google" without passing on ANY information about the person doing a search.
"Ixquick" https://ixquick.com/ is a meta-search engine that searches more than a half dozen search engines

Both pages allow "Private searches" of search results... and both sites are "family friendly" which is a big deal on the web..

Below are links to the "Privacy policies" of both sites. (The information is the same on both policy pages.)

"Ixquick"
