Building a web site

Postby johnsykes » Sat Feb 23, 2013 9:57 am

I am doing a special project. I'm attempting to organize a reunion of people who right now, are spread across the country.
I think one way of getting things going would be to build a web page....where I can put a lot of information, pictures of past associations with people, a list of those who likely would attend, etc.

Trouble is, I have no clue how to build a web page. I know, I've been clueless before, so forget that. LOL

Any ideas would be most welcome. Costwise, I could cover it to a couple of hundred IF necessary. But I keep hearing about sites being built for virtually nothing,

Cheers

John

Just do a facebook page for the project .. that costs nothing and people will find it, you'll find them much easier than a regular website.
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Hey John...
The thing with the groups that will 'build it for next to nothing', is that after a month or so, they'll charge you X dollars per month to maintain it. I don't know how much, but there ya go. It sounds like a short term project so may not be cost-effective? I don't know.

Have you thought of just starting up a Facebook page about it.... like CFUN Reunion or something like that. Then you can have your friends connect that way?

Just a thought.

(Just noticed RF's post - great minds! ;-) )

John, there was a recent CFOX/CKLG reunion in Vancouver which was organized through a Facebook group. According to a few friends who went, very successful. Definitely the way to go these days if you want to connect with people from the past.

Bonjour Jacques
Rosemere est à peu près 25 miles au nord de Montréal.
