Ars Technica has a great write up on cracking digital rights management code.

Several points are made, including it is tech companies that gain, not the entertainment industry or the end consumer.

DRM is a highly volitile topic, as example some Canadian musicians like Bare Naked Ladies, Sara McLaughlin, don't want it used, while others promote it.

After the Sony Rootkit damage, the complaints and laws suits continue.
