GMail's new Call phone.

Postby Steve Sanderson » Fri Aug 27, 2010 10:48 am

I was wondering if anybody else has downloaded the new 'Call Phone' from GMail?
I installed and tried it out yesterday and today. It seems to work quite well when I called a Telus number,
but it sounded a little hollow when I called Radiofan, who has his phone through Shaw internet.
The install also has Video Chat as well. Now is the time to make that FREE long distant call!
Hey Dan....You can call all the radio stations in the U.S.for free to get those "stickers" !!
Google states ..." Call anywhere in the US and Canada for free and get low rates for other countries with
this small plugin — right from within Gmail. "

I'll be calling you Darth from now on. :sign5:
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Yeah, I gave up on it after I tried it because of the sound, too. Other people could hear me fine, but I couldn't hear them.

No matter how loud I yelled into the keyboard. :dark1:

I was just given a clipping from the Edmonton Journal on GMail's telephone service.

One thing missing in the discussion here is that it is only Free to call the U.S. and Canada until the end of the year! Admittedly, rates to other countries are as low as 2 cents a minute, so I don't think the price will be an issue. Just that it won't be Free anymore, beginning January 1st.
