Global Traffic Reporter LOL moment

Postby crs » Tue Apr 02, 2013 9:13 am

I had a good laugh yesterday afternoon when the Global Traffic Reporter's first hit at 5:10pm was to update commuters on the border waits coming north from the the States on Easter Monday. Let's stand back a moment here and think this one through...you're telling commuters who DON'T HAVE A TV IN THEIR CAR that they can expect a very, very long wait at the border to get back home??? About the only person who MIGHT benefit from this nugget of information would be viewers watching Global News contemplating an after-dinner border run for cheap gas and cheese....WHICH I'm pretty sure they would have done on Saturday in the absence of any lineup. :violent1:

Traffic reports on TV are a joke.
By the time you stop watching TV at home, get in the car and head to your destination, 90 per cent of the time the situation will have changed.
A useless waste of time and resources.

That's what happens when a TV station contracts out its traffic coverage to something called the "Canadian Television Network"...

Follow the "Corporate site" link in the top left hand corner at http://www.trafficnet.ca/
