Aretha to Marry in 2012

The Queen of Soul plans to marry her retired firefighter boyfriend of 27 years later this year.

This will be husband number three. They are both about the same age, she being 69. She also has four children, though none were born while she was married. I mention it only because it is unusual. Though I guess there are lots of people out there who live together for a long time, have some kids, then get married later.

Hey, if you are the Queen of Soul, you can do anything you want.

Absolutely right ! Two of my favourites are Spanish Harlem and Freeway of Love. The production on Spanish Harlem is excellent... and I just love the way she says `pop the top baby' in Freeway of Love. You have to appreciate a convertible or vehicle with a sun roof

For years, I had been very worried about Aretha enormous weight, not as some Fattism thing, but simply a concern for her health.

I was happy to read in one of the articles on her upcoming marriage that she was shed a huge amount of weight which I hope will prevent a lot of future health problems.
