Sad news. Bob Welch was a right place/right time fit for the mighty Mac : they had recently lost founding guitarist Peter Green to increasingly schizoid behavior, and the much admired Danny Kirwan, suffering his own demons, was dumped uncerimoniously.Welch's fluid style of playing revitalized the band when they seemed quite likely to implode, never becoming more than just another long gone English blues band (think Atomic Rooster/Savoy Brown).
He owned two stand-out single releases in a pretty strong year for CHR,,but having always loved the original, he had me at Sentimental Lady.
And I do recall as an MD, going more than a couple of tracks deep into French Kiss.
Godsped Bob.
