Mitchell's biggest hit, "Singing the Blues" was #1 for 10 weeks in 1956.

...and is still heard on fine Oldies stations everywhere. If they play the '50s to any depth.

He is often viewed as a "one hit wonder", but "Heartaches By The Number" was #1 for 2 weeks over Christmas 1959. And "Rock-A-Billy" hit #10 in 1957. Before the "Rock Era", "My Heart Cries For You" and "My Truly, Truly Fair" were both #2 in 1951.
