JFK Lovechild in Vancouver? (*No it's not RadioFan)

Did legendary American president John F. Kennedy father an illegitimate son who's now residing in Vancouver?

The New York Post reported Thursday that Vanity Fair magazine has a story on a Vancouver man in his late 40s named Jack who is allegedly the result of an affair between his Texan mother and Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1963 in Dallas.

The tabloid cites sources who say Vanity Fair writer David Friend has been working on the story for more than a year, and had even sent a photographer to Vancouver to get shots of the man, said to be tall and bearing a striking resemblance to JFK.

But the Post reports that within days of Senator Ted Kennedy, JFK's youngest brother, learning about the story, it was killed.

"The story was set to run, and they gave Ted Kennedy a courtesy call, and a few days later the story was killed," a friend of the Vancouver man told the Post. "Ted must have strong-armed (Vanity Fair editor) Graydon Carter."

But Vanity Fair spokeswoman Beth Kseniak told the Post that the story isn't dead. The monthly magazine is said to be holding off until there is solid proof that JFK fathered the man, such as a DNA match.

The Post reports that those close to the story say the man's mother – who was introduced to JFK by his vice-president, Lyndon Johnson – slammed her door when Vanity Fair came knocking.
