Ex-UP PD Kath Thompson to be PD of CHFI-FM Toronto

Kath Thompson begins as Program Director of CHFI-FM in Toronto beginning next March 1st. After leaving UP in Calgary early last August.

Here are some details from another thread:

Kath was doing weekends at The Bear in Ottawa in 2001. By the time she left in March 2009, she was Assistant PD and MD, and the station was Virgin Ottawa (it has since reverted to The Bear).

Kath moved from Ottawa to Calgary (97.7) to become APD in March 2009. By October, she had been promoted to PD/MD.

Kath won the Canadian Music Industry Award for Music Director of the Year (Major Market) in 2007. From what I can tell, she was a finalist in every prior year that she was MD at The Bear Ottawa.

The Rogers press release states that she has more than 30 years of radio experience.

Kath replaces Julie Adam, Rogers National PD, who for the past eight years has also been the CHFI PD. Julie continues as National PD.
