CBC Radio One Launches Saskatoon Morning

To celebrate the on-air launch of CBC Radio One's Saskatoon Morning, the city's newest morning radio show on 94.1FM, CBC Saskatoon is hosting an Open House on Thursday, October 24 from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. at the new station.

Saskatoon Morning hosts Leisha Grebinski and Matt Kruchak, Jill Morgan, new host of CBC News: Saskatchewan at 5, 5:30 & 6, Craig Lederhouse, host of The Afternoon Edition and Garth Materie, host of Blue Sky for a first look at the new station, a live broadcast of Saskatoon Morning, behind the scenes tours of the newsroom, radio and television studios, free coffee and cookies and spin to win CBC prizes and an exclusive Saskatoon weekend getaway for two. The first 50 people on site win limited edition Saskatoon Morning travel mugs filled with fresh coffee.

"An open house is a great way for us to thank the people of Saskatoon who welcome us into their homes every day," says John Agnew, Managing Director of CBC Saskatchewan. "We want to connect with our audience and allow them to experience what goes on behind the scenes of their favourite CBC radio, TV and online programs everyday."

6-9 a.m Live broadcast of Saskatoon Morning and CBC Saskatoon Open House. All are welcome.

12-1 p.m. Tune into Blue Sky with host Garth Materie live from CBC Saskatoon on 94.1FM

4-6 p.m. Tune into The Afternoon Edition with host Craig Lederhouse live from CBC Saskatoon on 94.1FM

5-6:30 p.m. Watch CBC News: Saskatchewan at 5, 5:30 & 6 with new host Jill Morgan live from CBC Saskatoon

CBC Radio One's Saskatoon Morning broadcasts weekdays from 6:00 to 8:30 a.m. with host Leisha Grebinski, online host Matt Kruchak and newsreader Dan Kerslake on 94.1FM and cbc.ca/Saskatoon. Saskatoon's new service expansion is part of CBC's five-year strategic plan, "Everyone, Every Way", launched in February 2011.
