Rod Kitter Retires from CJWW

Postby bigbry » Fri Sep 01, 2017 11:57 am

The face of radio will be changing in Saskatchewan.
This morning, after 37 years on the air with CJWW, 25 of which were spent on the morning show, Rod Kitter announced his retirement from Saskatoon Media Group.
Rod started on August 25th 1980 with 1370 CJWW as their first all-night country announcer. Though the frequency has changed, Rod has remained a constant for listeners around the province becoming the most listened to voice in Saskatchewan willing to share the day's information in a fun and unique way, as only Rod can.
Though the frequency is now 600 on the AM dial, Rod has remained a constant every weekday morning on Saskatchewan’s ‘Most Listened To’ radio station”. Make sure and stay tuned for Rod’s final Moo Crew broadcast the morning of Thursday, August 31st. The show will include some special guests and we will announce Rod’s replacement who will join Dave Thomas weekday mornings staring September 5th.

From this morning's Broadcast Dialogue:
Rod Kitter has retired after 37 years at CJWW-AM Saskatoon, as both program director and long-time morning show co-host. Dave Thomas will take over PD duties and continue to co-host the show with Steve Chisholm. Formerly PD and midday host on 98COOL FM (CJMK-FM), Chisholm is now director of programming for all three Saskatoon Media Group stations. In addition, Jerad Bowes has joined CJWW as a swing announcer after stints at CJYM-AM Rosetown and XM105 FM (CIXM-FM) Whitecourt. The revamped 98COOL FM line-up has Gregger and Lena in the morning; Jeremy Hudson on mid-days, who moves over from 92.9 the BULL (CKBL-FM); and music director Matt Bradley on afternoon drive. The revamped line-up on 92.9 the BULL FM has PD Pat Dubois on mornings; music director Cristy Beggs on middays; Greg Krienke on afternoon drive, who moves from co-hosting mornings; and Trevor Chikoski in the evening time slot.
