What follows is from this morning's Edmonton Sun -- Hicks on Six. Anybody know anything more about Kevin? Not a name I've heard before.

• Kevin Hilgers is well known in the region, being the morning man at what’s now EZ Rock a zillion years ago before moving to Grande Prairie. Kevin’s so involved in Grande Prairie Rotary that he’ll be Rotary’s Northern Alberta district governor, including all the Edmonton clubs, for 2012-13.

He was doing mornings at CKST (maybe it was then CHMG) 1070 in 1988 and was still doing mornings in 1989 when the station was MG 1200.

Hi folks

Yes in the late 80's I hosted the morning show at MG 1200, now EZ Rock. When I started it flipped from CKST 1070 to CHMG AM 1200 AM stereo! At the time it was based in St. Albert. Kirk Elliot my my PD, a man I still respect. The GM was Doug Shillington. We had a lot of fun and for a few years the station did quite well with an AM classic gold format. I learned a lot in those days. Kevin Hilgers.

Any other (on-air or off-) broadcast experience besides CKST/CHMG?

Yes I did mornings in Saskatoon at CJWW, CFGP Grande Prairie, evenings CJWW, mornings CJVR Melfort, and worked twice at CKX Brandon. 15 years on the radio. A lot of fun.

I had 15 fun years in radio. Tought me a lot. Trained me to be an entrepreneur. Yes there is life after radio.. I look back findly to my years on air. Some folks don't. I was lucky.
