CFUN 141 Jocks

From the dying days of CFUN, here's the jock jingles from the Ted Randall "CFUN 141" jingle package.

CFUN Jocks
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

The Jon Richard mentioned - does anyone know/know about this individual

Jon Richard is mentioned as an employee of LG when it was on the north shore and Jon Richard worked as a newsman at CJJC.

Not sure of the connection

here is the Vancouverbroadcasters listing

Jon Richard - News reporter CKWX Vancouver mid 1970s; news CJJC Langley late 1970s; CKOV Kelowna 1983

The jingle is for Don Richards...not Jon.

When the rock stopped rolling at CFUN in Spetember of 1967 Don went to CKLG as a jock. He later worked in the news room. In recent years he was leading a group of protesters opposing the Canada Line along Cambie Street.
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Jon Richard

I happened to be looking at a friend's RTNDA of Canada NewsLetter for January 1971, and it includes a letter from Jon Richard from late 1970, when Jon was a beat reporter stationed in Rossland for CJAT Trail.

Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but when I arrived at CJAT a year later (May 1972), CJAT no longer had beat reporters, just two full-time Newsmen at the station. Barret Laurie and Jim Harrison.

As for the jingles themselves, they have often been unaffectionately referred to as the 'low budget' jingles.

TD, I gave that information to Gord Lansdell; it's all I remember of Jon's career. He replaced me at CKOV when Robin and I decided to move back to Vancouver.
