A couple of early 1960's memories from CKNW ...

Now that's class! :toothy1:

I loved the bargain-basement Dinah Washington-cum-doo-wop groove on those two. It would seem the PD of the time was paying a litle lip service to the demon rock and roll by airing them; probably a token attempt to lure some of the less hip CFUN or CKLG's listeners without chasing away Mr.or Mrs.Suburbia.

I' claim no wish to hijack this thread, however even though I don't recall the jingles,I do remember Frosty playing the occasional cooler 45 every now and then while he did PM drive and Hutton pulled mornings. Nightly at about 545 he'd go live to air with Webster to promote Jack's show of the night. Forst would bait him, Webster would bite, and Forst would say something outrageous just to make Jack go ballistic..occasionally it was downright fall down funny.

Anyone know who the NW PD was when those jingles were airing?

Hal Davis .. I think he was the Production Manager/PD/Ops Manager (whatever title fit at different times) from the early 50's (if not sooner) until he became GM in 1973 when Mel Cooper left to run CFAX.
