CFUN 141 Jocks
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Yes they were indeed the worst jingles ever. I think even Red hated them as I recall in an aircheck that he referred to them as "our low-budget jingles".

I'd be interested in knowing, however, who Ted Randall is/was, and if there's a further story behind these jingles.

I don't know a whole lot about Ted Randall, he was a programming consultant in the mid/late 60's. I guess part of the deal that went along with using his services, was his acapella jingle package. The same package was used by K/Men in San Bernardino, CA where Dave McCormick was PD and I assume Randall was the consultant.

Randall may also have published a "tip-sheet" similar to The Gavin Report in the early 1970s.

Getting the jock jingles done correctly always was a challenge.
Jack Thys was one of the announcers I worked with at CJOC in Lethbridge in the late '60's
PD Bob Lang sent a list of the jocks names plus a tape where he properly pronounced each one to the US jingle factory (I can't remember which one) but we did have some earlier PAMS Sonovox series ones.
Anyway, the jingle tape came back with the singers going "Jack Thighs!"
It was pronounced Ties.
I guess they never listened to the tape.
