Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Obviously, I spoke too soon while waxing eloquent about CBU's ratings success. CBR #1 in Calgary. Unbelievable!

Personally, I'm blaming "new" Calgarians for this travesty.

And a provincial election.

Yeah, right. It's not like the CBC says each word in 26 languages.

It must be their hours each day of Esperanto language programming. I know there are a lot of protests in the streets of Calgary that "they" all go back to Esperanta where they came from.

Do you think maybe a head or two will roll at Shaw Court in the CHQR management team?

I'm sure a few people are wishing they had kept Stirling in place rather than replacing him with that Kenyon idiot.

#1 to #7 in one book. Are these clowns trying to repeat what they did with Power 107 a few years ago?

The new high priced morning show on Q-107 really proved to be a winner too.

You'd almost think New-Cap was running Corus Calgary!

I think BCK's take on this is correct. It's the Eastern invasion, longing for home and the Torontocentric CBC gives them what they want.

I was listening to The Current last week regarding the Lukiwski affair and the female (Anglophone) host referred to "former Calgary MP 'arvey Handre". Yeah, Harvey's pretty French.

The Current does present some great documentary work, their local programming stinks.

Rather than point you to another thread, I might as well copy and paste the relevant portion below. I don't listen, but it is clear that a lot of people do listen to CBC's local programming in the morning.

I don't have access to BBM ratings by daypart, but Broadcaster magazine is reporting "seven CBC Radio morning shows now ranking #1 in their markets".

And specifically quotes Calgary with a 14.6% share, Vancouver with a 15.4% share, and Victoria with 17.1% share. Other #1 rated morning shows are in Toronto and Ottawa.
