Danny Holiday passes

Postby radiofan » Mon Feb 20, 2012 9:21 pm

Just got a note from Red Robinson letting me know that longtime Seattle jock (KOL, KBSG) Danny Holiday passed away earlier today.

From Red's note, a Danny Holiday quote about one of our good friends ..

At one time Danny worked for KOL when Dave McCormick was program director. Danny often told me that Dave was the
best program director he ever worked for

Condolences to Danny's family and friends.

I hope that Dave McCormick sees the quote about him being the late Mr. Holiday's Fav PD.

I can see that.

RIP - yet another talented fella - condolences to his Family and friends, KOL buddies, KJR friends, and especially Pat O'Day. (* what a GEM).

Red's tribute to Danny makes an excellent read:

Danny was also founding PD of KSND-1590, Seattle's pioneer Oldies station. Elsewhere I've seen that dated as 1968, but I believe it was 1967, as Danny hired Robert O. Smith just as he was being fired by KJR. Robert O. started at KJR in about January 1967 while his "Walter Wart" was still on the station's chart, and stayed for about 6 months.
