A Far East morning

Some fun this morning! Conditions before sunrise favoured Japan, Korea, and Russia.

There was Japanese on 1242 kHz at a listenable level for a few minutes with the carrier remaining strong once the signal faded and became too weak for audio. Japan on 774 and 747 only had weak carriers at the time, while 1287 had some murmurs of audio.

On 972 kHz it was presumably Korea that had clear audio for a minute while CKNW was quiet. The best I've heard it.

I heard a presumed KBBI 890 from Homer, AK, with the BBC World Service at a strong level mixing with CJDC while 891 kHz showed only a weak carrier.

Radio Rossii was heard on 279 kHz with an ID at the top of the hour at 12:00 UTC. The other Russian longwave stations only had a weak carrier at the time.
