Russia on 279 this morning

Not much was heard this morning except Radio Rossii on 279 kHz. It faded up nicely a couple of times, including 05:00 PDT (12:00 UTC) for a top of the hour ID. At the same time the beacons DUT 283 and CRN 281 were also heard.

CRN's audio was visible on audacity's spectrum display but was almost uncopyable; visually or by ear. Only a few of the CW ID's were strong enough to copy but just barely. It's fascinating what can turn up where there had been only silence the day before.
