There seems to be no exact figures available yet, but Clear Channel is in the midst of laying off "hundreds of staff" in small and medium markets across the U.S. Concept seems to be to use syndicated programming to replace local hosts which, Clear Channel argues, will give them a competitive advantage in these markets. The old Quality v.s. Local argument.
