Annette Funicello dies at age 70

Annette Funicello -- the undisputed queen of the "Mickey Mouse Club" -- has died, according to Disney's official fan club Twitter. She was 70.

Funicello was a triple threat -- Mouseketeer, pop singer and bigscreen star. She was huge in the 60's with movies like "Beach Party" and "Beach Blanket Bingo."

According to "Extra," Annette had been hospitalized in Bakersfield due to complications from multiple sclerosis and had been in a coma for years.

Annette - another icon of my youth, gone after a VERY brave fight.

She was a HUGE star. I don't mean star, I mean STAR. She was the girl all the girls wanted to be and all the boys were NUTS about her.

"M-I-C-K-E-Y - Y? Because we LIKE you".....no we LOVED Annette.

Very sad but probably a relief for her Family - she had been in a coma for a long time, after a terrible run with MS. Now she is up there with Walt, plotting a new theme park.
