Actor Dennis Hopper passed away at his home in Venice, California today. His family was by his side when he passed.

Hopper had recently been suffering from prostate cancer and going through a difficult divorce from his wife Patricia.

Hopper is best known for starring in the 1969 classic "Easy Rider."

This saddens me greatly. Hopper was in many films from 'Rebel without a cause, Giant, Blue Velvet in addition to the iconic
Easy Rider'. His best film was 'Hoosiers' with Gene Hackman - he won best supporting actor - a great performance which to
this day makes me shed a tear.

He was an edgy actor - but his body of work spells out his talent. He was given his star on the Hollywood stroll this march.

Loved him as the crazed villain in Speed. Great line when he approached the oriental couple on the subway with a shotgun "Is this seat TAKEN??"
