A veteran RCMP officer has been suspended without pay for 12 days due to questionable behaviour. At a disciplinary hearing on the North Shore, a panel of his fellow officers heard that Constable Milo Ramsey drove a motorhome while drunk, hitting seven parked cars. In seperate incidents, he's also accused of throwing a rock at a bus in Whistler, and of associating with a known criminal whose name was not released.
Sergeant Pierre Lemaitre with the RCMP has told Global BC while the officer excercised poor judgement, he will be allowed to keep his job. He said police officers wear uniforms, but underneath they are human beings. Constable Ramsey has also agreed to seek counseling, and abstain from alcohol.
