Exactly what I was thinking Mike.

This is the first time that I can remember that 'B.C.'s News Leader' hasn't been nominated for something in at least one category.

It would be interesting to know if they even bothered to submit anything.

Sometimes keeping up the charade can be more trouble than it's worth.

Don't forget, being nominated, and actually having the staff to put things together, edit and submit, kinda go hand in hand these days.

Didn't Till cover any big stories while hunkered down in a hotel room somewhere with a jug of port and roast pig on his TV table?

Private Broadcasters don't have newsrooms anymore

Postby segueking2 » Sun Sep 09, 2007 10:56 am

How can you present winning news programming without a staff?

NO NEWSROOMS in Vancouver stations - including CKNW. (except 1130, of course)

They have three people trying to carry the ball - and Rutherford trying to get the most out of that.

CFUN?

The Beat?

Most of these kids can't even spell news..great for the owners, and shows that bribes and political contributions paid off.

No expenses = fatter bottom line, and to hell with the listeners..

Rutherford as in Doug Rutherford, Vice President of Corus Radio
(News-Talk Division) and GM of Corus Edmonton

To me the talent and the staff numbers may be there at NW and WX
but there is no focus on being the best and showing off to the world

Is there?

to quote Seque - its the money....follow the money. The money is the bottom line. More for the shareholders. If they won awards they would
have to advertise that fact or send people to a dinner. That costs money.

I am too cynical I know.
