Amber Alert

SURREY/CKNW(AM980) - The subject of an Amber Alert issued by Surrey RCMP last evening has been found.
18 year old Kiren Sahota was allegedly abducted by her 19 year old boyfriend Victor Vinay Raghwan. He is known to police.

The pair were found at a local Surrey hotel.

The male was talked into surrendering to police just after 3 this morning.

They have been taken to Surrey RCMP headquarters.

Neither of the pair were harmed.

The Amber Alert has now been cancelled.

I wasn't pleased when the Amber Alert started scrolling across the screen during The Sopranos on CTV. I was even more ticked when I saw it was over a 'lover's spat' .

law enforcement believes the circumstances surrounding the abduction indicate that the child is in danger of serious bodily harm or death
there is enough descriptive information about the child, abductor, and/or suspect?s vehicle to believe an immediate broadcast alert will help
If these criteria are met, alert information must be put together for public distribution. This information can include descriptions and pictures of the missing child, the suspected abductor, a suspected vehicle, and any other information available and valuable to identifying the child and suspect."

Everytime Hazel is late getting home from bingo some chump is going to be looking for an Amber Alert.

I wonder if there was some connection to local law enforcement, or if the race card was dropped?
