Who is currently registered as the owner of *our* Media Club?

Who is Allana Farnell and how did she get control of *our* Media Club?

When and how did "The Media Club" manage to become a local public night spot, completely contrary to its original intended purpose as a gathering place for the Vancouver Broadcast Media... namely, us?

When and how did we manage to lose control of *our* Media Club?

... and how do we get it back?

When it comes to Journalism... there's no such thing as "used to be".

The most recent list of temporary liquor licenses only goes back to 2003, allowing the Club to operate between 11 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. Sunday to Thursday and 11:00 and 2:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday. The license still restricts them to just Club Members and Guests only and no Club Lounge.

On its business license at City Hall the owners of "The Media Club" are still identified as "The Greater Vancouver Media Association"...but...

Isn't that still us?

And that's where I have a big problem with the current Media Club operation. The club manager Allana Farnell now says that: "It used to be the local hangout... for Radio, for television.."... and yet it it still being operated to this day in the name of *our* "Greater Vancouver Media Association".

So.. that's my next question...

Who is now the "Greater Vancouver Media Association"... and who controls it?

If it isn't still us... then who is it?

None of this has anything to do with the subject of this thread... and none of it now answers the question at hand of why "The Media Club" is still being run in our name and is still being operated under a business license that still identifies the owners as *our* "Greater Vancouver Media Association".

The Greater Vancouver Media Association.

... and that's us. The very same local media group... mostly all radio reporters who had worked in the old City Hall Press Room... that had formed as an Association under the required provincial legislation for the purpose of starting "The Media Club" in the first place, now almost 30 years ago.
