Special Ops Team killed that piece of scum in a firefight. They have his body.

My only regret is that I'm too old to have been in the sniper team that pulled the trigger, and took him out. Excellent work guys.

Just heard a pundit ask ..... "if they were close enough to kill him, why didn't they take him into custody and bring him to justice?" ... what a laugh.

Finally a quote from Chairman Mao is very appropriate ... "Justice comes from the end of a gun."

All that listening to Radio Peking finally pays off.

The Extreme Right is in panic mode themselves this evening. They have just lost their favourite (only?) name to get people to panic and follow them.

I wonder who will replace him? Maybe whoever is left of the FLQ that did the dirty work in Quebec.

Maybe an appropriate thread to say - disgusting behavior by media in promoting Harper at the last minute
in an election

editorials, front page statements etc - may the electorate be wiser to the game of the corporates

Longtime KIRO FM conservative talk-host Dorie Monson actually had good things to day about the president today (first time for everything) and only had one complaint about the way events went down.
He couldn't understand why we (Americans specifically and we of the western culture in general) would give such respect to the body of Bin Laden and comply with Muslim tradition (Monson "jokingly" suggested he should have been wrapped in bacon and porn along with his white shroud).
Why??!!
Because we're better than that!
We are civilized people.

Bin Laden, throwing women in the way of bullets.

A fitting end to a merciless, and animalistic biped.

NS said it > we are CIVILIZED. Well, most us.

Some of the drivers in Vancouver, I am not so sure.

Special shoutout and large hug to NS > who made for a great winger. My special wishes extend to your wife, OF COURSE.

Cheers to you all.

Question: how long before the Movie comes out? :pepper:

As I have mentioned here before, I live in a U.S. Navy town within sight of an active Naval base and currently have a view of the aircraft carrier Nimitz from my upstairs windows.
The fact that this operation was carried out letter-perfect by U.S. Navy seals is a source of much local pride of course, but oddly, around here last night, there were no loud celebrations, cheering, fireworks or even horn-honking.
In Manhattan last night and today; different story, but those acts of celebration are being demonstrated by the people who were directly affected by 9/11, many who lost loved ones and comrades.
The only major military display of loud and joyous celebration I've heard of so far occurred late last night at the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis.
The school commander woke all the midshipmen (most are in bed before 11PM eastern time) and assembled the throng on the quad for the big news.
You can imagine the response.

Oh well, I suppose it had to come out sometime...Wippie and I actually served together in the Fightin' 451st, otherwise known as "Brannigan's Blowhards." For the uninitiated, we were a crack team of specialists who were parachuted behind enemy lines to demoralize civilians or military personnel on leave by meeting them in bars, restaurants or on public transit and boring them with pointless anecdotes, wrongheaded opinions spouted off in a VERY LOUD VOICES and just generally annoying the bejebus out of them while they were trying to relax. Why Wippie himself incapacitated a whole regiment of Commies with a three-day story about a fishing trip to Lake of the Woods that had the chief commissar bleeding from the ears...

I found a few pictures from our basic training days. Here's Wippie nursing a badly sprained tongue - http://nkilkenny.files.wordpress.com/2007/04/frank2.jpg

I left the service many years ago and a wife, kids and a generally contented outlook on life gradually made me forget much of my training, but although I disagree with him profoundly on many levels, I'm proud that Wippie continues to live up to the Fightin' 451st's motto - "Ego venit, ego semit, ego taedium vullem ex lemma" - "I came, I saw, I bored the he## out of 'em."

As I suspected, Thor has zero qualification to comment.

Typical of his posts, he has added nothing but vitreol.

I think the word you're thinking of is "vitriol".

While you're investigating the dictionary, please look up the word "popinjay" and apply in your own case.

Cheers, :occasion5:
