Astroid 2011

For anyone interested in seeing pics of the astroid that came close to earth today (7500 miles)

http://news.discovery.com/space/first-p ... 10627.html

This one was only 50 feet in size... a real big one is set to arrive on November the 8th and it is supposed to pass in front of the moon... about the size of a football field.

Some were concerned that today's big rock would take out one of the many com satellites that exist up there, or atleast hit some of the space junk that floats around... someone should start a space garbage recovery business

Please.... AstEroid!
Remember it's asteroids and hemroids. (and yes I know there are many variations on that, but you get my 'point')
Now excuse me while I go put my special hat back on.
Being nice is my resolve - in 2012

Well EXCUSE ME Asteroid !

Jon tells me that a contributor can not edit one's postings after 10 minutes, and if I do a typo or two, you get to be the critic.

Sometimes when I access radiowest, I am using a notebook which has a tiny keyboard, so typos occur... especially when I am in a hurry.

If some people did not edit the content of others, it would not be an issue. If you are not familiar with the details, awhile back, someone would quote content, and then rewrite the quote. Stopping any editing after 10 minutes became the solution.

Ah! I wondered about that. Good solution for keeping ass-coverers and OCDs in check.
I'm less fussy about simple spelling errors and more bugged by mis-use of terms like "irony". In a lot of cases, things that are cited as "ironic" turn out to be simply "coincidental".
Good rule of thumb:
If a porn star moved to Virgin, Utah, that would be ironic. If the same porn star bought a house in Boner Knob, Montana that would not be ironic.

Some more on the space junk, today the space station came within 350 metres of being hit by one of the many things floating around... many of these objects are in their own orbit. Garbage collection is required or it won't be good for those flying Virgin Galactic. Perhaps Mr. Branson should get a contract from all the countries that have put stuff up there, to retrieve it.
