Only in Canada could a song with such, ahem, lustful lyrics become an AM rock staple.
Carole Pope later entered into a long term relationship with Dusty Springfield. I think they were apart at the time of Dusty’s death. But Carole, of all music biz folk, probably best understood what made this complicated, severely underrated pop chanteuse tick. They quite possibly met in Canada since Anne Murray regularly hired Dusty to harmonize on Toronto recording sessions.
