Can-Con 45 Of The Day - January 21

Today's Can-Con 45 is from 1987 ... Written by Eddie Schwartz and Rob Friedman, from the UK it's Paul Carrack and "Don't Shed A Tear" ...

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Paul Carrack’s biggest hit as a solo by Canuck tunesmith Eddie Schwartz.

Known as “the man with the golden voice” in Great Britain, Carrack is arguably even better known for his mic-for-hire work with other bands like Ace (How Long), Squeeze (Tempted) and Mike & The Mechanics (The Living Years).

Prior to handing Don’t She’d A Tear to Carrack, Eddie Schwartz was previously best known for penning Hit Me With Your Best Shot for Pat Benatar. Over the years, he also had his own solo success in addition to composing for Joe Cocker, The Doobie Brothers and name a few. Eddie has also given back to fellow Canadian artists by serving with the SOCAN performing rights organization.
