Men’s Room was an a three-woman studio group. Two of the ladies—Charity Brown and Cherrill Rae—had been 1970s A & M recording artists: Charity on her own, Cherrill with then-husband Robbie in the Raes. Rounding out the vocal trio was Caren Cole, a Royal Consevatory Of Music-trained keyboardist.
Sign Of The Times was a cover version of an English hit by all-girl band Belle Stars. Ironically, ex-A & M singers Brown and Rae had signed to Solid Gold—a Toronto-based label distributed by A & M.
Charity Brown took over 20 years off before returning to performance in the 2000s, Cherrill Rae remarried and, with her musician spouse, relocated to Florida. She’s performed on cruise ships. Caren Cole also headed south, performing as a singer and musician in plays, tv and film soundtracks.
