Today's Can-Con 45 is from 1973 ... it's Ken Tobias and his original version of "Dream #2" ...

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

After his song Stay Awhile, as interpreted by The Bells, became a giant hit, Ken Tobias was deemed a real up-and-comer in the singer-songwriter sweepstakes. Although he never did again scale Stay Awhile-type heights, Ken proved he could be a contendah with—among other musical creations —Dream #2.

A year or three after Ken’s version came out, Susan Jacks did an excellent cover on her album. Titled ‘Dream,’ Susan’s record has only become available for sale or download in recent years.

As for the above Tobias U.S. release, were all labels’ radio promotion copies adorned with “Special Disc” and “Jockey Record”? Or were these add-ons an MGM/Verve quirk in addition to the standard “Not For Sale” boilerplate?
