This was Burton's last charting single in the US. Down there, however, it was released on the independent Alfa label.

Pretty sure You Saved My Soul was also on the soundtrack of Melanie which represented Burton's one-and-done movie career. In my view, Burt acquitted himself well in that touching flick which starred Glynnis O'Conner. Perhaps other movie roles were offered. Whatever, he opted to stay focussed on music.
