Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

In another thread later today

Norm Mazuren surfaces :occasion5:

His question I could not answer - what do people in radio make today?

Norm says he left radio 20 or more years ago and was earning $40grand. :groovy:

I said the average wage of an on air/off air non salesmen/mgr would be lower than that :violent1:

Any takers out there - From story/production producers to on air talk show/dj personality Vancouver to Hope
what are the wages and averages?

Wages?

At the Vancouver TV stations, they have been "Intern" (*as in un-paid) heavy. No Bennies, no pay - just 'work experience' - and oh, gee, there is no F/T job waiting at the end of the phony rainbow, for far too many.

Is it the same in radio?

Wages have fallen in the Industry, since 2000....when I fully believe Radio Executives across Canada starting chopping the experienced staff (*read boomers) - and making even more more profit.

Cynical, you bet.

I wish all rookies all the best - it ain't the same - sorry ~ it was always a dog fight, but at least you got paid to work, and there was limited "V/T"'s used.
