Pi Zero Wifi

A new model of the Pi for any inclined to play.

I am guessing most will use this for the camera, and transmitting the image via wifi, and many other things.

The stores are selling 200 gigabyte SD cards now. It is humour to see the size of the card and the storage ability.

And a reminder to all, do a backup today.

Best Buy Canada has SanDisk 200GB microSDXC, Sony 256GB SDXC and Lexar 256GB SDXC cards listed currently.

Feels strange to see a memory card the same size as the standard hard drive of the cheapest Dell desktop PCs of only a couple of years back.

All that said, memory cards are nowhere near as reliable as SSD (Solid-State Drive) or Hard Drives. And several orders of magnitude slower. Which takes me back to PMC's comment about backups.

Agree with you on storage. The latest version of `Raspbian' has a SD copier on the menu to duplicate, uses `dd' and the write speed on the SD card makes a big difference. The SSD and/or hard disk can accept the SD card as an image file and then use `dd' to restore upon failure, or if duplicating.
