Today's Can-Con 45 is from 1971 ... a song written by Neil Young for a group that was his opening act ... Crazy Horse and "Downtown" ...

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Known as The Loner, Neil Young has pretty well been A Lifer with Reprise Records. Except for a brief soujourn with Geffen Records—which ended in recriminations and lawsuits—Neil has spent his entire solo career with the label created by the late Frank Sinatra after he left Capitol in the early ‘60s.

Indeed, at one point in his career, Neil noticed the paucity of other Reprise artists and said something like “It’s just Frank and me, now.”

Sinatra is long gone. But Neil sings eternal on Reprise.
