Well-written, well-argued article, especially details on any journalist departing before a contract expires can technically owe monies spent advertising him or her.

This scenario of Sinclair potentially owning two network affiliates in Seattle has been simmering for quite awhile. I can’t see a Trump-appointed FCC getting in the way of the broader Sinclair-Tribune deal. But even an ultra pro-business regulator would presumably have to gulp hard before allowing, in Seattle, the ABC and FOX affiliates to be owned by one corporate entity.

Sinclair has always been a lousy television station owner. The original 7 - 7 -7 FCC rule to restrict ownership to 7 am's, 7 fm's and 7 TV stations should never have been changed. When Reagan changed it to 21 - 21 -21 it was bad enough but Bill Clinton completely deregulated ownership and democracy got flushed down the drain.
